AIR, a signature massage for detox and lymphatic flow

It’s been a while since I was in the Duxton Hill area and I’d forgotten how cool it is. The new spa House of Wellness by The Face Place is perfect for the spot. I loved the décor and the treatments available – they were just like the area, both traditional and modern.

My 70-minute curated signature massage, AIR, focuses on lymphatic circulation and fluid balance not only for the body but also the face. A divine manual facial treatment is carried out while you’re enveloped in an inflatable body suit. It’s the perfect mix of technology and human touch.

How this massage in Singapore works

You lie on top of the lymphatic drainage body suit (on the massage bed) and it’s velcro-ed around your torso, legs and arms. Once activated, it delivers rhythmic, sequential compression across the body to stimulate blood flow from the feet towards the lymph nodes at the top of the legs, and from the hands towards the lymph nodes under the arms.

As circulation improves, the body begins to feel less congested. It also helps with body functionality and skin tone. And unlike manual massage methods, the suit treats multiple areas simultaneously – legs, abdomen and arms – making it particularly effective for reducing fluid retention, de-puffing the body, detoxification and promoting a lighter, more toned feel.

Once the body suit is in action, you’re treated to a long facial massage using bojin and gua sha techniques. This therapeutic and relaxing massage works along the face and neck to stimulate lymphatic drainage, release muscular tension and enhance microcirculation. It helps reduce puffiness, refine facial contours and encourage natural detox pathways.

After this, a calming facial masque and soothing neck and shoulder massage ease any lingering tension. In just 70 minutes, the AIR Signature leaves the body feeling lighter, and the face lifted and more contoured.
